Strong and vibrant nonprofit leadership starts with the community.

BoardStrong applies a unique model to support better nonprofit governance practices. We work to build hardworking coalitions of regional funders, United Ways, chambers of commerce, higher education, and businesses who collaborate to foster a vibrant board recruitment culture in their communities. These organizations are often already working on their own board recruitment initiatives – we bring them together and use the BoardStrong platform as a way to unify their efforts and measure their progress on a local and regional scale.

We believe that everyone has a role to play in supporting the wellbeing of our cities and neighborhoods. Nonprofit board service is an amazing way for community members to give their time, talent and resources to support the greater good. Citizens often aren’t aware of board leadership opportunities, or if they are, don’t see themselves as “board material.” However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The more our community leaders raise awareness of the importance, and benefits, of board service, the more talented, dedicated and diverse candidates we will see lining up to dedicate their time and energy to a cause they believe in.
